On Monday, January 31, 2022 at the Panua Building, the Pohuwato Regent's Office, Baperlitbang and Pohuwato Regency Regional Apparatuses held a Public Consultation Forum on the Pohuwato Regency 2023 Regional Government Work Plan (RKPD). The event was opened directly by the Pohuwato Regent, Saipul A. Buinga. With the panel discussion concept, this event presented the Head of Baperlitbang, Irfan Saleh, Plt. Head of BPS, Abd. Asman, and the leadership of PD.
On that occasion, there were several things that were conveyed by Abd. Asman that related to the achievement of macro indicators for the development of Pohuwato Regency in 2020 and 2021.
"Economic growth in Pohuwato Regency during 2020 contracted by minus 0.18 percent," he explained. The three sectors that dominate the economy in Pohuwato are Agriculture, Trade and Construction. During 2020, the three sectors contracted by minus 1.4 percent, minus 0.15 percent, and minus 0.02 percent, respectively. When viewed from the expenditure side, during 2020, household consumption still grew positively by 0.21 percent.
In addition to economic growth, Asman also explained the inflation condition in Gorontalo. Inflation in Gorontalo City in 2020 is in the range of 2.59 percent.
Furthermore, the presentation of the human development index (HDI) of Pohuwato Regency in 2021 which reached 65.80. This figure increased by 0.43 percent compared to 2020.
Related to poverty in Pohuwato Regency, increased by 0.46 percent to 18.08. The increase in the percentage of poor people is still triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, related to the unemployment rate, Asman explained that the open unemployment rate in Pohuwato Regency in 2021 reached 2.45 percent. "From the level of education, graduates from universities have the highest unemployment, which is 4.89," he concluded.
