BPS Pohuwato Regency Holds a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on Service Standards and the Socialization of the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026)

BPS Pohuwato Regency conducted a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on Service Standards and the Socialization of the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026) on Thursday, 27 November 2025, at the Studio Room of the Pohuwato Regency Library and Archives Office. The event was attended by various stakeholders, including service providers, service users, academics, practitioners, government agencies, civil society organizations, and media representatives.

The FGD aimed to enhance the quality of BPS Pohuwato’s service standards while providing an initial introduction to the upcoming implementation of the 2026 Economic Census. The event was officially opened by the Acting Head of BPS Pohuwato Regency, Mr. Harim Imran, who emphasized the importance of continuous evaluation of service standards to ensure improved service delivery to the public. He also highlighted that collaboration with stakeholders is essential to the success of SE2026, ensuring that the data produced will be accurate, up-to-date, and useful for development planning.

The FGD was divided into two sessions.

The first session presented information on BPS services along with the regulations governing them. It was explained that BPS Pohuwato Regency provides three types of services: Statistical Consultation, Library Services, and Statistical Activity Recommendations. Participants were invited to share input and suggestions to support the improvement of service delivery. All feedback received will be used to evaluate and refine service regulations and will subsequently be incorporated into updated Service Standards and Service Charters. This session also introduced the official complaint channels available for submitting feedback should any BPS service fall short of existing regulations.

The second session focused on the introduction to the 2026 Economic Census, including its objectives, benefits, coverage, and implementation plan. SE2026 will be conducted from 1 June to 31 July 2026 through a door-to-door enumeration method. The census will cover a wide range of business entities—from micro and small enterprises to medium and large businesses. Several sectors will not be included in SE2026, such as Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (Category A), as they were covered in the 2023 Agricultural Census; Public Administration and Mandatory Social Security (Category O); and Household Activities as Employers or Goods/Service Producers (Category T). BPS also reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding respondents’ data confidentiality in accordance with Law Number 16 of 1997 on Statistics.

Through this activity, BPS Pohuwato Regency hopes to strengthen the quality of its service standards and enhance stakeholder awareness. Participants are also expected to help disseminate information about the 2026 Economic Census to the broader community, ensuring smooth and successful implementation next year.
