Organizing Data, Understanding Farmers: SPDT NTP 2026 Training Held in Pohuwato
October 8, 2026 | BPS Activities
The Statistics Office of Pohuwato Regency (BPS Kabupaten Pohuwato) held a training session for field officers participating in the 2026 Survey for the Improvement of the Farmer Terms of Trade (NTP) Weighting Diagram, known as SPDT NTP 2026, on October 8–9, 2026. The training took place at Hotel Irene and Hotel MBR as part of preparations for the upcoming field data collection.
The training was officially opened by Harim Imran, S.E., M.Si., Head of BPS Kabupaten Pohuwato. Through technical briefings and interactive discussions, the participants were equipped with a shared understanding of the survey concepts, data collection procedures, and key considerations for carrying out the survey in the field.
The training brought together 42 Field Enumerators (Petugas Pencacah Lapangan or PPL) recruited from BPS Statistics Partners, alongside 14 Field Supervisors (Petugas Pengawas Lapangan or PML), who are permanent BPS staff members. The enumerators will work directly with agricultural households to collect the required information, while the supervisors will oversee the data collection process, ensure compliance with established procedures, and maintain the quality of the data gathered.
The training sessions were delivered by Luh Lisna Rupinayanti and Amalia Ndaru Nuriyo, who will also serve as field supervisors for SPDT NTP 2026. Their presentations were complemented by discussions and technical exercises, enabling participants not only to become familiar with the survey instruments but also to prepare for the diverse circumstances and respondent characteristics they may encounter in the field.
SPDT NTP is designed to provide information on the production value, household consumption, and production costs of agricultural households. The resulting data will be used to develop input structures, update the commodity basket and weighting diagram for the Farmer Terms of Trade (NTP), and support more accurate calculations that better reflect current agricultural conditions.
Behind every figure collected lies a broader picture of farmers’ lives: how they generate income, meet household needs, and manage their production costs. For this reason, accuracy and diligence at every stage of data collection are essential to ensuring that the realities of agricultural households are adequately represented in the resulting statistics.
Through this training, BPS Kabupaten Pohuwato is preparing its field officers to carry out their responsibilities competently and with a strong sense of accountability. The journey toward better agricultural statistics begins in the training room, laying the groundwork for data that are more accurate, more reliable, and that can serve as a stronger foundation for well-informed policymaking.
